About Me

“ With my art I search for true beauty in queerness. Queer as in gay or trans. Queer as in me. Queer as in humanity. Queer as in the weirdness on our world and our mind and the world’s we create through the stories we create. Humans are “weird” and why not embrace it. The structure of nature is also neat. ”

Kert Elliott Mägi (1999) is a queer Estonian artist whose work spans a variety of media, including digital art, painting, and sculpture. He graduated from the Tartu Art School as a graphic designer and Pallas University of Applied Sciences as a sculptor. Mägi’s works address important themes such as body positivity/neutrality, queerness, and feminism, highlighting societal and cultural issues.

The artist’s work is strongly influenced by his interest in horror, science fiction, and biology (especially speculative biology), which is reflected in his work both aesthetically and substantively. In his free time, he creates fan art related to his favourite media, providing joy and inspiration to himself and others. This creative practice is an important way for him as an artist to discover new ideas and find inspiration for his professional work.

Some of his posters and stickers can be found on the streets of Tartu. He also participates in some exhibitions. (for example: "Every Person is Broken into Pieces" in ARS, "Tee/Paus" in Pallas Gallery, "Asja Armastajad" in Pallas Gallery"Transgressive Joy" in Aparaaditehas ect)
