Self portrait / Burn out

 

Concept sketches:

Sculpture done for a class project. Planned to make a candle out of it but the mould of it failed so now all I have are these images left of this sculpture. A portrait of one of my inner selves. A vaguely masculine ram man since I identify with sheep/rams a lot and use them to express myself a lot alongside frogs and beetles. Think it was around 25-30 cm high if I remember correctly. 

The purpose of this originally being a candle along side the hooves. Burning the candles bringing the message of burn out and losing parts of yourself the more you give yourself to others without getting anything back in the long run, mental health worsening losing your sense of self, melding and melting into an even coat of wax if it goes too far.
